Our Book a Book Bag service is free and available at all of our branches, ensuring all customers have access to our collections.

FAQs

What is the Book a Book Bag service?

This is a service for all customers, which ensures that those who don't wish to or who can't come into the library can still borrow books from our physical collections.

How does the Book a Book Bag service work?

Fill in the online form or give us a call and we will gather items based on your preferences. When your Book Bag is ready we will give you a call to arrange a pick-up time. Our Book Bags are only available on weekdays. Please allow two days for your order to be filled.

How do I order a Book Bag?

Fill in an online form or give us a call.

How do I collect my Book Bag?

This is different at each library branch. When we let you know your Book Bag is ready for pick-up, we'll also let you know how to collect it.

How do I check out my Book Bag?

All items in your Book Bag will already have been issued by us when you pick them up.

What if I place my order after 3.00pm?

Your order will be actioned the next day. Please allow two days for your order to be filled.

What if I forget to collect my Book Bag?

Items will be removed from your library card and put back on our shelves.

Can I request a specific title?

Yes, if it is available the specific title will be added to your Book Bag.

Do rental charges still apply?

How can I pay charges without visiting the library?

Online payments can be made. Information for online payments can be found here.

How long are items issued for?

Items will be issued for their standard loan period which is three weeks for books and two weeks for magazines and DVDs. Information about borrowing can be found here.

What other resources can I access from home?

There are a lot of online resources available to you with your library card and PIN. A list of our resources can be found here. If you can't remember your PIN please contact us and we can reset it for you.

How do I return items from my Book Bag?

Items can be returned to any Tasman District Library via our external returns slots which are open 24/7.

Can I get home delivery?

We don't offer this service but someone else could pick your Book Bag up for you. They will just need your library card to ensure they pick-up the correct Book Bag.
