Hosting authors and writing workshops inspire literary moments for us at Motueka Library Te Noninga Kumu.

Upcoming author talks include:

  • Carol Dawber will be talking about her recent book Going To Town: High Street Motueka on Thursday 10 November at 2.00pm. In this fascinating talk, Carol will discuss her research into this local history account as well as other local histories. Carol's book is an asset and her talk will bring Motueka's heritage to life.
  • Phil Walsh will be giving a talk on Saturday 12 November at 1.00pm. From beyond the Denniston Plateau comes the remarkable story of the Cascade Westport Coal Company. Walsh has documented a truly epic saga in New Zealand's industrial coal mining heritage with his book Conquering Cascade. This talk will be a real treat for history buffs.
  • Charlotte Squire will present a Write Your Memoir workshop on Tuesday 15 November at 2.00pm. Charlotte provides an encouraging workshop and you will leave with some definite goals for your memoir writing. You'll also get tips on collecting your stories and your personal history.
  • Local author Carol Duffy will be launching her new chapter book Dragonfree in Danger on Friday 18 November at 3.30pm. This fabulously illustrated story is very appealing for children.

Come to one or all of these author talks. They're all free and everyone is welcome.
