HerStory: A Celebration of Local Women

March to October 2018

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of women's suffrage in New Zealand, Tasman Libraries are bringing together materials that document and celebrate the lives of local women.

We’re really interested to see how local women’s experiences at home and at work, in education, the arts, sports and recreation have changed over time.

If you have original photos, letters, documents or other unique items that show what life was like for women in Tasman or Nelson between 1893 and 1993, and you’re happy to let us copy and publish them on the Kete Tasman website, please let us know. We won’t keep the original photos and other items, but will scan or photograph them and publish the copies online.

Terms and conditions apply. For further information, please contact your local Tasman District Library.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have an item I think is suitable what should I do?

Please phone your nearest Tasman District Library. The library staff will ask you some questions about the item or items you would like to submit and organise a time for you to bring your items into the library.

Why do I have to fill out a donation form when I'm not giving you my item?
